Barbara “Bobbie” Allred Cox

Barbara “Bobbie” Allred Cox, Born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Bruce and Shirley Allred on July 12, 1952. She married Sam Cox of Fairview on September 22, 1973. She died May 12, 2019 at Utah Valley Hospital from health problems. Bobbie was surrounded by her husband, Sam, sister Shirleen, and family. She loved the outdoors and could be found fishing with her mother, nieces and nephews. She and Sam were happiest when they were together fishing at various lakes in Utah. One of the highlights of her life was fishing trips to Alaska when she caught a 960 pound Sleeper shark. She was most proud of that shark, but she let it go. Bobbie was an accomplished horse woman, winning many competitions, barrel racing, and pole bending. She was also Sanpete County Rodeo Queen. She was an independent and strong woman.
Sam and Bobbie had a trucking company. Both worked very hard. They retired in 2012, bought a house in Mesquite, Nevada and enjoyed the past six years in the winter weather. She had a beautiful yard, loved roses, and flowers. She loved the mountains, especially camping with friends and family. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed four-wheeling in the mountains and in Mesquite where she loved to look at the cactus and wild flowers.
Survived by her husband, Sam Cox, Mt. Pleasant, UT; sister, Shirleen Allred & LaMar Cloward, American Fork, UT; niece, Gina Tooley, grand-niece KyLee, grand-nephew Chandler; nephew, Wyatt LaMar & Jodi Cloward, grand-niece Davi, grand-nephew Gunner; brothers-in-law, Ron &Tammy Cox, Eddie & Lesa Cox, Randy & Claudean Cox; sisters-in-law Patsy Cox, Clarice Cox, and many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law William C Cox and Iven “Woody” Cox.
Funeral services will be held Thursday May 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant, UT). Viewings will be held Wednesday May 15, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the Rasmussen Mortuary. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
