Bernita Dee Hill Gallup passed away surrounded by family in the early hours of September 25,2022. Beloved great grandmother, grandma, mother and wife during her  82 years of life, she finally succumbed to struggles with diabetes and dialysis.

Bernita was born August 9, 1940 in Sanpete County. She was among four brothers and sisters, preceded in death by Lucille, Donna, and Junior, survived by brother Dal.

Bernita met the love of her life, M.E. “Bud” Gallup and married May 24, 1958. Their love story, filled with hard work and sacrifice, is an extraordinary testament to love, with 64 years together.

Bernita had two children, Mark (Bobbie Jo) and Brad whom she loved dearly. Trips to Rock Creek and family fishing time were always a fond memory to share. Grandma to many grandchildren, Allison (Niklas) Brandon (Amy) Danielle, Cameron (Brittney) and Ashley and multiple step grandchildren, Britney, Jerica, Jayden, BreAnn, Johnny and Grace. She is survived by six of her great grandchildren, Adriana, Savannah, Samuel, Sabrina, Oakley, Creedon and Banx preceded in death by great-grandsons Kobe and Cash.

Bernita was a fighter, the strongest woman, who was full of sugar and spice. We will miss her dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts.

By Bernita’s request no formal services will be held. The family will have a graveside service on Thursday at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
