Beth Despain Allen, wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 6th 2018, at the Fillmore Community Hospital. Beth was born on March 23, 1924, in Cowley Wyoming, to Robert Earl Despain and Daphne Steele Despain. She is the 2nd child in a family of 6 boys and 2 girls. She grew up in Lovell, Wyoming, and as a youngster played games and loved being with her family. Beth served a full-time mission in the Texas-Louisiana Mission, and that is where she met her eternal companion Arthur Rex Allen. Beth and Arthur were married June 22, 1948, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Flowell, Utah, on the farm where they raised 6 girls and 1 boy. She worked as a lunch lady and was known for her delicious rolls and fun-loving personality. Beth and Arthur both retired from Millard School District in 1987, and together they served a full-time proselyting mission in the Louisville Kentucky area. They loved serving together and loved the people. After they returned home they served as Stake Missionaries, and helped with the opening up of the Cove Fort Mission.

Beth loved her 7 kids, her 24 grandkids, their spouses, and her 61 Great-grandchildren. She loved watching them in their sports and other various activities. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and served faithfully in her various callings in the LDS church. Beth is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Robert, Lovell and Richard Despain, and her loving husband of 70 years, Arthur. She is survived by her brothers Dwight, Harold, Garrett (Carolyn) and sister, Faith (Doug), her 7 children, Marlene (Kevin) Christensen, Louise (Jerry) Imlay, LaDawn Berkey, Pat (Bill) Glasmann, Cindy (Paul) Astle, David (Vicki) Allen, Sheri (Bart) Hare. Leaving behind her posterity of 113.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 11: 00 at the Flowell Ward Building. Viewing will begin at 9:30 prior to funeral. Family and friends may gather together to celebrate Beth’s life on Friday night 6-8 p.m. at the Flowell ward. Internment at the Fillmore Cemetery following the services.
