Bonnie Rae Sheriff

December 15, 1934 — June 23, 2025

Oak City

Bonnie Rae Christensen Sheriff, 90, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Orem, Utah. A beloved resident of Oak City, Utah, Bonnie lived a life of faith, service, and devotion to her family and community.

Bonnie was born on December 15, 1934, in Downey, Idaho to Ruel Andrew and Dora Elsie Bloxham Christensen. She was one of twelve children who leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and resilience that touched all who knew her.

Bonnie earned a nursing degree and dedicated much of her life to the care of others. She worked at Delta Community Hospital in Delta, Utah, and later as the company nurse at Brush Wellman. She also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Honolulu, Hawaii, and later served a couples mission in Texas alongside her beloved husband, Scott Lovell Sheriff, who preceded her in death.

An active and faithful member of the LDS Church, Bonnie served in numerous callings throughout her life. Even in her last few months as a resident of the Millard Care and Rehabilitation Center in Delta, she continued ministering to others, recently serving as the Relief Society president—likely chosen for her natural kindness, as she spent her days visiting and singing to fellow residents.

Bonnie found joy in the everyday moments: writing in her journal (or whatever paper was nearby), gardening, watching sporting events, and going for walks. She loved playing cards and games with her Oak City friends and was known for her thoughtfulness—never missing an opportunity to send a birthday, holiday, or encouragement card.

She is survived by her sons Danny (Laura) Sheriff of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Marshall (Sheila) Sheriff of Fillmore, Utah; six grandchildren: Dylan Sheriff, Hunter Sheriff, Nicholas Sheriff, Cameron Sheriff, Shelby (Dakota) Bullock, and Slade Sheriff; and three great-grandchildren: Bronx Bullock, Baylor Bullock, and Eli Sheriff.

She is also survived by her siblings: Uvonne (Jay) Christensen, Gay (Virgil) Ricks, Merna (Ronald) Johnson, Alan (DeAnn) Christensen, Elise (Vernon) Parent, Neil (Terri) Christensen, Rula Dawn Beardall, and Darrell (Leanne) Christensen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott; sister Delene (Reese) Ward; brother, Ruel Dee Christensen and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak City 1st Ward Chapel. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., both at the same location. Interment will follow at the Oak City Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Millard Care and Rehabilitation Center and Delta Community Hospital for their years of compassionate care. Special thanks to the dear friends and neighbors in Oak City for their unwavering love and friendship. Bonnie was proud to be a part of the Oak City family.
