Calvin Matthias Allred, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2019 into the loving arms of his sweet wife Rita. he was born in Fountain Green, Utah on April 22, 1928 to Matthias Allred and Dora Rowena Jacobson Allred. Calvin had one brother and two sisters. Calvin lived and raised his family in Fountain Green. He attended Schools in Fountain Green and Moroni, he then Graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo.
Calvin served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 2 ½ years in Sweden. He then served in the Army for 2 ½ years during the Korean War in Okinawa Japan.
Shortly after returning from serving in the army, Calvin and Rita were married in the Manti Temple, November 23, 1953. they were blessed with 5 children, 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren (#32 soon) and one great-great grandchild. They were married 63 wonderful years until Rita passed away September 22, 2017.

Calvin lived his entire life in Fountain Green, where he worked a very successful sheep ranch operation with his brother James until his retirement in 1977.

Calvin served in many calling in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the age of 27, Calvin was called and served as the Bishop of the Fountain Green Ward, during those 7 years as Bishop, he conducted 90 funerals and several weddings, He especially enjoyed working with Rita in the Manti Temple as assistant to the Temple President and as an ordinance worker, they also served a mission together in the Connecticut, Hartford mission.

Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Rita; his parents; one brother; and 2 sisters; a daughter-in-law and a great grand daughter. He is survived by his children, Rowena Adams, David (Jane) Allred, Keith (Lydia) Allred, Colleen (Lonny) Brown and Karen (Gene) Peckham; 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday January 21st, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Fountain Green Chapel. Friends may visit with the family Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services at the Fountain Green church. Interment, Fountain Green Cemetery.
