Carol Marie Mortensen, 96 of Ephraim, Utah, passed away April 1, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born November 8, 1929 to Paul & Elvira Marie Thomsen Mortensen in Ephraim, Utah.

Carol grew up in Ephraim and after graduating she worked as a switchboard operator until she moved to Salt Lake City with her constant friend Leda and her sister Dorothy Jorgensen. She moved back home to Ephraim three years ago to live out the remainder of her life.

Carol was a strong independent woman with the best sense of humor. She was adventurous and loved to travel. She was spontaneous, lunch could be a drive to Idaho or Wyoming. Carol loved finding new places to eat and once a good place was found she was very loyal. She enjoyed and was a perfectionist in sewing, crocheting, knitting and embroidering and shared her talents with her family and friends. Carol was stubborn in the best ways.

Carol is survived by her good sister friend Dorothy Jorgensen and many, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Preceded in death by her parents; siblings Paul Ivan (Jewel) Mortensen, Leo Elmer (Utahna) Mortensen, Niels Eldon (Verda May) Mortensen, Leland (Carol) Mortensen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W, Mt. Pleasant) with family and friends gathering at 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment in the Ephraim Park Cemetery.
