Carole Anne VanOverberghe Seals, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2023, at the age of 84 after a battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons. Carole was born Dec. 18, 1938 and raised in New York City.
She met her husband in Hawaii, where he was serving in the Navy. They fell in love and were married. During their 36 years of marriage, Carole and her husband lived in many different states, making new friends and memories along the way.
Carole had a love for literature, spending countless hours reading books and immersing herself in the worlds of her favorite authors. She also loved to paint and enjoyed watching her murder mysteries.
Carole is survived by her daughter Sherry Nielson (Russ), Son Robert Seals (Nancy), grandchildren Tom Nielson (Bree), Dale Nielson (Katie), Austin Seals (Delaney), Kaycee Fish (Charlie), TJ Tilson, as well as great-grandchildren Lilly, Louis, Leah, Taylor, Cruze, Cash and Chelsie.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Seals, and son David Allen Seals. Her parents Raymond and Ernestine VanOverberghe, and her brother Raymond VanOververghe.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Golden Skyline for the love and support they gave Carole during her final years and Hospice during her last months. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
