Cherrylee Anderson Winget, age 72, passed away May 26, 2025 in Richfield, Utah due to complications from a stroke.
Cherrylee was born on January 10, 1953, in Covina, California to Earl Monroe Anderson and Doris Elaine (Frye) Anderson. She was the second of four children in her family. Cherry grew up in Pomona, California and graduated from La Puente Union High School.
Cherry moved to Utah when she was 18 years old. She married Dennis Winget (later divorced). They had two children together, Lindsay and Brandon. After their divorce, she again found love and spent many years with Lynn Rushton until his death in 2018.
Cherry loved living on the farm and being surrounded by all the different animals, often she referred to the family farm as the funny farm. You never knew what you would find out on the farm. She loved anything with fur and feathers and even some scales. By far her favorite animals were her horses and pugs.
Mom put herself through nursing school and was very proud of her accomplishments. She loved being a nurse and taking care of others. She worked most of her career at the Fillmore Hospital. She loved working with the long-term care patients, but her true love was being a scrub tech in the OR. Her patients and their families adored her. She was a true care giver.
Mom will be missed but her family is content knowing she is free from pain and able to move freely now, something she hasn’t been able to do for years.
Cherry is survived by her children, Lindsay (Jeff) Mitchell, Brandon (Darci) Winget. Her grandchildren, Macie, Kyle, Colton, and Kaylee. Her siblings David Anderson and Valerie Anderson. She is also survived by Lynn’s children, Kevin (Bobbie) Rushton, Michele (Michael) Empey, Todd (Julie) Rushton, Shawn Rushton and 12 grandchildren.
Cherry was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Dianna Lynn Harris, granddaughter Abigail Elaine Mitchell and Lynn Rushton.
