Christine Boman Dent, a woman whose life was defined by sweetness, service, and an unmatched work ethic, passed away, leaving a legacy of love and faith. Born on December 25, 1946, in Cornish, Utah, to Verden and Colleen Christiansen Boman, she was aptly named—a true Christmas gift to her parents and the eldest of seven children.

Christine’s journey took her from the family dairy in northern Utah to the orange groves of Southern California. It was there, following a providential ride from the airport for a returning missionary, that she met the love of her life, Verden. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on April 4, 1966, beginning a 60-year journey of faith and family.

A brilliant organizer and tireless project manager, Christine was the engine of her household. Whether managing a boys' home in Hurricane, working for Alison’s Pantry, or raising her seven children—Kevin, Michelle, Emily, Richard, Laura, Aaron, and Christal—she did so with "substantial" purpose. She was a master of the domestic arts: sewing clothes, canning from her large gardens, and teaching 4-H. While she loved her peonies and irises, her greatest work was tending to her children, ensuring their childhoods were nothing short of magical.

Christine was a pillar of her community and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (DUP), famously donning her gingham bonnet to share pioneer stories and leading the restoration of the Oak City town bell. Music was the heartbeat of her home; she was a gifted pianist and ward choir member who spent countless hours accompanying Verden’s singing and teaching the stories behind the hymns.

In her later years, she served as a temple ordinance worker and dedicated herself to family history, possessing a rare gift for connecting people and tracing genealogies within minutes of meeting a stranger. To her grandchildren, she was a miracle worker who made every single one feel like the "favorite."

Christine was, quite simply, one of the sweetest people to walk the earth. She made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved through small acts of kindness and homemade loaves of bread. Her greatest desire was to do the will of her Heavenly Father, returning to Him with her family around her.

Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Verden; her parents, Verden and Colleen Boman; and her brothers, Terry and Jeff Boman.

She is survived by her siblings: Bonnie Boman, Dale Boman, Karen (Rob) Wilcox, and Julie (Brett) Wilcox.

Her legacy continues through her seven children: Kevin (Wendy) Dent, Michelle (Kevin) Cook, Emily (Aaron) Hardy, Rich (Tricia) Dent, Laura (Ken) Jenson, Aaron (Rachel) Dent, and Christal Dent; as well as her 26 grandchildren, each of whom she made feel like her favorite.
