Doretta Larsen—Mother, sister, Aunt, Grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her beautiful family-built, Mt. Pleasant home on March 3, 2018, surrounded by her loved-ones. Doretta was born on February 10, 1930, in Fairview, Utah, to Delsa Jenivee Olson. She grew up in the Mount Pleasant area attending Wasatch Academy. Doretta earned dual degrees in business and accounting from LDS Business College. Doretta married Ray Irvin Larsen on September 11, 1947, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1963. A Lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Doretta held many and various positions including Primary President, Relief Society President, Sunday school teacher, cub scout leader, and ward librarian.
Doretta is survived by her 11 children: Michael (Janine), Roy, Utah; Jody (Wendy), Kingman, Arizona; Tony (Mary) Mount Pleasant, Utah; Linda (Joe White), Riverton, Utah; Christine (Gene Cornwall), Newberry, Florida; Terry, Round Rock, Texas; Lorena, Salt Lake City, Utah; Leslie, Salt Lake City, Utah; Kathleen (Brandon Whytock), Murray, Utah; Jimmy (Camille), Alpine, Utah; Jean (Sean Bevan), Greer, South Carolina; 40 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Ray, 3 brothers and a sister, parents, and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 7, 2018, at 12:00 noon in the Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake Center (295 S State) with a viewing from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
