Edith "Edi" Rasmussen

Listen to Obituary

Edith “Edi” Rasmussen, age 45, passed away, leaving behind a life rooted in family, creativity, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors.

Edi was born on January 21, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Suzan and Jerrold Rasmussen. She was raised in Fairview, Utah, where she developed a deep connection to the land and the close-knit community she called home. Edi graduated early from North Sanpete High School and went on to attend Westminster University.

The daughter of two educators, Edi grew up in a home that valued both hard work and creativity. Her father, Jerrold, also ran the family ranch, where Edi spent much of her time and formed a lasting bond with him—affectionately known as “Pop.” Her mother, Suzan, an artist, inspired Edi’s own creative path. Edi expressed herself as a freelance graphic artist and jewelry designer, blending her artistic talents with her appreciation for simple, meaningful beauty.

In time, Edi returned home to Fairview to help care for her mother and the family ranch. She found joy in the outdoors, especially in the peaceful surroundings of Fairview Lakes, and in the daily rhythms of ranch life. She was rarely without the companionship of her beloved dogs—Gonzo, Sally, and Mary Jane—whom she lovingly considered her children.

Edi will be remembered for her independent spirit, her creativity, and her deep ties to family and place. She is survived by her mother, Suzan Rasmussen, and her cherished dogs, Gonzo, Sally, and Mary Jane.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and helpers who stood by Edi, offering support, kindness, and friendship throughout her life. Your presence and care meant more than words can express.

Edi’s memory will live on in the landscapes she loved, the work of her hands, and the lives of those who knew and cared for her.

There will be a graveside service on May 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview City Cemetery with friends and family gathering at 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside.
