Edna Lucille Smith McBride,  91 passed away at home surrounded by her family, October 16, 2023.

She came fighting into this life as a barely 3lb baby and left with that same fighting spirit. She was born December 30, 1931 to Farrell P. Smith and Helen Condie Smith in Kaysville, Utah.
She was the oldest of 3, because of her fathers occupation her childhood was spent living in many places throughout Utah.

It wasn’t until her fathers work brought the family to Fillmore that Edna finally called Fillmore her permanent home where she met her sweetheart Jack Edward McBride, They were married February 23, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Fillmore is where they made their home for the next 72 years, where she raised their 5 children Jana, Terri, Scott, Todd, and Jacci.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Where she served in various organizations. She belonged to the DUP, Fine Arts Guild, Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Pinochle Club.

She shared her musical talents playing the piano and organ for church, and teaching piano lessons to many youth in the community. She loved having a well groomed, beautiful yard, she shared those skills with others and she passed that love onto her children.

Later in life she developed the talent for oil painting and left paintings to all her posterity.
Jack and Edna ran the Avalon Theatre for 48 years.  Jack said “She was the boss of the show (Avalon Theatre) she ran every aspect of the picture show, because I was too busy with the Damn cows. I just showed up to run the projectors.”

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the Intermountain Homecare Hospice Team. Special Thank you to Alexis, Shauna, and Sherri for their extreme love and compassion for our parents.

Survived by her husband Jack, her children Jana (John) Whicker ; Terri (Ross) Cummings; Scott (Cheryl) McBride; Todd (Laurie) McBride; Jacci (Bevan) Johnson; 18 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, 1 step great great grandchild, brother Richard (Norma) Smith, sister JoAnne (Jack) Weir.
