Gayle Ann Shelley, 75, passed away on August 15th, 2023, in her home with her loving husband by her side. Gayle was born on October 29th, 1947 to Archie Wilson Gray and Anita Earmine Thompson in Manton, MI. Gayle married the love of her life, Grant Shelley, on July 30, 1965. Together they moved to Mountainville, UT and had 6 children. After raising their 6 children, Gayle and Grant moved to Mount Pleasant, UT.

Gayle was a strong, loving, and compassionate woman. She was an avid reader and would read any book she could find. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and bowling. Gayle was a big fan of Harry Potter, an obsession she shares with her grandkids. She also loved the Utah Jazz and held season tickets for many years.

Gayle worked for the North Sanpete School District as a teachers assistant, substitute teacher and preschool assistant for 11 years. She also was an EMT in North Sanpete for a few years. Gayle worked at Wal-Mart when they opened in Ephraim and was there for 12 years.

Gayle is survived by her husband of 57 years, Grant Shelley, her children, Matthew (Raquel) Shelley of Fremont, UT, Sandra Collard of Fairview, UT, Samuel Shelley of Mount Pleasant, UT, Paul (Krystal) Shelley of Chester, UT, Corey (Ashlee) Shelley of Prescott Valley, AZ, Jessie (Cheri) Shelley of Bangor, ME, her 29 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Anita and Archie Gray, and her siblings, Margery (George) Rose, Helen (Henry) Martz, and Bryce (Priscilla) Gray and her grand daughter Brianna Shelley.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends gathering at 10:30 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
