George Clair Mower

George Clair Mower, 78 of Mt. Pleasant, UT, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital. He was born September 13, 1940 in Fairview, Utah to Fred Webster & Maurine Christine Kiesel Mower. George married LaRae Franz on March 15, 1961, together they had four children; Randy, Darrell, Sharee, and Ruth Ann, later divorced. George married Jeanne Skinner. She had three children Dave, Dan, and Doug.
George spent his life as a miner and was a key figure in the startup and development of many copper, silver, gold, oil-shale, gilsonite, mines in the western states. He was involved in construction of Eisenhower Tunnel and Area 51 in Nevada during the times of nuclear testing. He had a love for the outdoors and especially fishing and water skiing. He was a friend to everyone and was a very generous, kind man.
Survived by his children; step-children, Dan & Doug; siblings, Morris (Sharlene) Mower, Judy (Tom) Liggett, Sherry (Marlin) Christensen, Jed (Cindy) Mower; sisters-in-law, Beverly Mower, Kathy Mower. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanne, step-son Dave, brothers, Dennis, Larry, Galen and Roger; sister Marcia, sister-in-law Oleah.
Funeral service will be held Friday November 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mount Pleasant North Stake Center with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to service at the church. Interment in the Fairview City Cemetery. Online condolence at rasmussenmortuary.com
