Grant Leon Brotherson

February 16, 1941 — June 5, 2023

2/16/1941 ~ 6/5/2023

Grant Leon Brotherson passed on June 5, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family at his time of death and passed peacefully.
Leon was born on February 16, 1941, in Mt Pleasant, Utah. He was the first born of Grant and Edna Brotherson, brother to Jean Brotherson Beck, and Terry Brotherson. He grew up working on his Uncle Ervin’s farm, where he learned his hard work ethic, developed his love for horses, and the outdoors. After graduating from North Sanpete High School, he moved to Salt Lake City and attended Stevens Henager College. He also joined the military and served in the Air Force Reserves.
In Salt Lake City, he met Alma Nelson. They married March 26, 1966. They had two sons, Craig and Chad. Leon was a successful businessman as a salesman in Salt Lake City and briefly in Idaho Falls, Idaho. During his career he met many of his closest friends. Making good friends came easy for him, and he had many, and never shied away from making more. He could talk for hours with anyone about anything, with a farming or horse story sprinkled into any conversation.
Although he moved away from Mt Pleasant, it was where his heart remained. He brought his values, love of horses and spending time outside with him to Salt Lake. He enjoyed his horses and joined the Mavericks Riding Club. He also loved fishing and golfing and passed down the same interests to his sons.
Leon is survived by his two sons Craig and Chad Brotherson; Alma Nelson Brotherson; brother Terry (LuCinda) Brotherson; sister Jean Brotherson (Jerry) Beck, grandson Tylor (Shelby) Brotherson and great granddaughter Aroura Brotherson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
