Howard Blaine Koyle, 77 passed quietly in his Spring City home on Wednesday March 6, 2024. Howard was born on October 23, 1946 in Payson Utah to Silas Henry & Edith (Hyatt) Koyle.
From the time he moved to Spring city in 1975 he devoted his life to building Koyle’s Automotive, his community, and helping those less fortunate than himself. He served as a volunteer firefighter & fire chief for Spring City, but his greatest joy came from volunteering with Palisade Pals and being a very sneaky sub for Santa. He always joked that as a mechanic and business owner he had three prices; 1 for regular folk, 1 for those who couldn’t afford it, and one for old ladies. Many in the community will remember visiting his shop as kids to get free Tootsie Rolls & suckers from his cash register that rarely held cash. He had a great love of the mountains and outdoors.
His love, generosity, and creativity touched & benefited many who will now carry that legacy forward.
He is survived by his three children, Clay Howard Koyle (Robin), Christie Jo Hardwick (Scott), and James Henry Koyle, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Sister Merle Jones & brother Scott (Heather) Koyle. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Ellen Koyle, parents, sister Bonnie Upshaw, & brother Alan Koyle.
There will be no formal services, however Military honors will be performed Saturday March 16, 2024, at 11 am in the Spring City cemetery, for any who wish to attend. At 1:00 p.m. a celebration of life will be held in Mt. Pleasant at Scott & Heather Koyle’s home. (200 E 260 S, Mt. Pleasant)
