Iris Charlesworth Bond

April 6, 1931 — February 11, 2022

4/6/1931 ~ 2/11/2022

Iris Charlesworth Bond, 90, peacefully passed away February 11, 2022, at her home in Meadow, UT surrounded by her loving family.

Mom was born April 6, 1931, in Kanosh, UT to Collins Rowe & Josie Juanita (Abraham) Charlesworth. She had a great childhood being raised in Kanosh and often spoke of her many friends and relatives and her fond memories with them.

She married her high school sweetheart, Terrill J. Bond, February 9, 1951 in St. George, UT and were later sealed in the Manti Temple Dec. 28, 2002. They were blessed with four children, 14 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and magnified her many church callings. She especially loved attending the temple.

Mom was a great support to dad and worked side by side with him in every endeavor.

She compiled detailed history photo albums and wrote in her journal daily. Each family member loved receiving her personalized poems that she wrote to them for special occasions.

Mom and dad were always on the go and loved it when we could go with them. Many memories were made going to the Ute Stampede, camping at Big John’s Flat and trips to Disneyland.

After dad retired from driving, they sold the truck and used the money to build a cabin which was used for many family get-togethers.

Mom loved music and had a talent of playing the piano and her accordion by ear and entertained at many events. She bought a lap organ with her “secret stash” and enjoyed playing with the Meadow Misfits, Melody Music Makers, Eastside Thumpers, and at the Senior Center.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed the friendships made there.

She will be remembered for her charitable acts of love and compassionate service.

Mom had a way of making each of us feel special. She was one in a million and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Sharla (John) Starley; Jan (John) Frampton; Terrill Lynn (Lynette) Bond, and Carma (Mike) Hodges; 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her four fun-loving sisters, Carma Cutler, Dathel Whitaker, Leora Allen, & Geraldine Kimball; grandson-in-law Scott Turner; and a great grandson Brennan Starley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at 1:00 pm. at the Meadow Ward Chapel.  A viewing will be held prior to the services from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Interment will be at the Meadow Town Cemetery.
