Jason Aaron Swapp

Jason Swapp, age 54 died peacefully at home of congestive heart disease on October 27th, 2022. Married Daina Paxman, later divorced. He was a father to Kylie Adams (Erik), Brittney, and Brock. He was born on July 6, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ramon and Harriett Swapp. He was the fourth of eight of children. Jason was a devoted father, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Even after his diagnosis, he continued to live his life to the fullest and always remained positive. He would say “If you don’t have something positive to say, please keep away.” Family was so important to him. He loved his children and loved to brag about them. He was always talking about their latest accomplishments to anyone who would listen. He also had a great love for his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the many memories he made with each one of them.

One of Jason’s favorite things was driving, and at Kennecott he was able to do just that. He drove some of the biggest trucks in the world and loved every minute of it. Driving heavy equipment was a favorite thing. As Jason said in his journal, “I guess it’s a passion for me to hear the power and the scream of the engine. I could go on and on but I will just say wow! It’s good to do some work.” Jason’s life was one big adventure. Growing up, Jason and his brothers worked for many local farmers. They would do anything from moving pipes, to milking cows, to hauling hay. The Swapp Boys had a reputation as being hard workers. Jason graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1986. He received an Associates Degree in Auto Mechanics from Snow College. After graduating from college, Jason worked for Bar-T Rodeo Company, where he cared and hauled the rodeo livestock. During this time he traveled the whole western United States and loved the time he spent on the road. He even had the opportunity to attend the National Finals Rodeo multiple times. Jason also worked at Nephi Sandstone and was very thankful for the friendships he made there. He spent his last ten plus years working at Kennecott as a driver and made many lifelong friends. Jason was known as the jokester and kept his coworkers in stitches. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and most of all watching the stars with his son Brock. Brock was his favorite adventure buddy, and he talked about their adventures together frequently. Jason loved a good movie, and Polar Express was his favorite. All the family members have memories together of watching it with him.

Jason is survived by his three children, Kylie (Erik) Adams of Spanish Fork, Utah, Brittney and Brock of Nephi, Utah; grandson Maverick; his mother Harriett Swapp of Fairview, Utah; his siblings Addam (Charlotte), Kristy Stevens, Jon (Anne), Spencer (Bonnie), Josh (Cheryl), Jake (Brenda), and Ben (Lacie); many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father Ramon Swapp and all of his grandparents.

A viewing will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 900 to 1030 am followed by a funeral at 1100 am. Services will be held at the Fairview red brick church, 122 South State in Fairview, Utah. Interment will follow at the Fairview City Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
