Jeffery Elliott Cox

August 20, 1963 — March 2, 2023

8/20/1963 ~ 03/02/2023

Jeffery Elliott Cox passed away unexpectedly while on a business trip in Denver, Colorado. Jeff was born on August 20, 1963 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Jeffery J. & Yvonne Grover Cox. Jeff graduated from North Sanpete High School and Utah State University where he received a B.S. in Business Information Systems.

Jeff was a kind, gentle soul who loved kids, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, fishing, camping and good food. He had a broad range of friends and acquaintances who respected and loved him. Jeff had a special relationship with his Grandpa Elliott Cox and spent hours working, fishing and visiting with him.

Jeff worked hard starting at an early age alongside his dad and grandpa at the Coal Yard in Moroni and on his family’s turkey farm. He learned to drive the loader and load coal onto trucks, he later batched Ready-Mix concrete and drove cement trucks and eventually drove semi-truck doubles hauling coal from central Utah coal mines to the Kennecott Copper Mine. After high school, he would return to Moroni for the summers and worked for his dad and Cox Rocks in Mt. Pleasant delivering cement. He was the most requested cement truck driver due to his calm, careful nature. This job allowed him to earn enough money to return to Utah State University and resume his education.

Jeff’s knowledge and talent with computers and computer networks gave him several opportunities in his career. He was a Hardware Administrator for Crossland Mortgage in SLC, Director of Computer Services at Great Basin College in Elko, NV where he designed and installed the original campus WiFi network, IT Support Specialist for Larry H. Miller Properties in SLC, IT Administrator for San Diego Sportservice Qualcomm Stadium, Delaware North in San Diego, CA, IT Administrator for Yellowstone Properties, Delaware North, West Yellowstone, MT, Field Systems & App Support for San Diego Sportservice – Petco. Park, Delaware North and at the time of his passing he worked for Xanterra as a Systems Analyst in Mammoth Hot Springs, MT.

He is survived by his wife, Gina, Emigrant, MT,  father, Jeffery J. (Elaine) Cox, St. George, a brother Dean (Helen) Cox, Logan, three sisters, Suzie (David) Williams, West Jordan, Tracy (Ron) Rasmussen, St. George,  & Jamie (Jeff) Bahlmann, St. George.
