Joyce Bodenhofer Russell

Joyce Wilma Bodenhofer Russell, daughter of the late: James Lester Bodenhofer and Nellie Wanda Behunin Bodenhofer passed away peacefully on September 6th 2025 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Joyce was born on September 21, 1943 in Halley, Idaho and is the fourth child of six children. She was preceded in death by her father, James, her mother, Nellie, her siblings: JoAnn (Marlin), Bill, Jeannie (Jim), John (Carlene), son Shane Russell, and survived by her sister: Julia Bodenhofer (Ben).

Joyce was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished her faith and belief in Jesus Christ, his teachings and life, and tried to exemplify his teachings as one of his choice disciples.

Joyce attended school in Utah and Idaho and graduated from Jerome High School in 1960, and always looked for ways to increase her education and learn more in life. She attended and completed a certificate in human resources at: Westminster College, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and worked as a human resource administrator and manager throughout her career. She was an avid reader of news and current events. She also loved: football, British novels and ’80’s rock n’ roll.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Lea De Russell (Darron) Christensen, late Shane Russell, Darrin (Jennifer) Russell, Jason (Victoria) Russell, Troy (Angela) Russell, and Brandon (Andrea) Russell, and made sure to tell everyone she ever saw and knew how much she loved her children and considered them her greatest gift and accomplishment.

Joyce was the proud grandmother of: 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Joyce will be greatly missed and know that she returned to be with a very large family of father, mother, siblings, son, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends who have passed on to the spirit world and returned to her Heavenly Father.

Funeral Services will be Friday September 12, 2025 at11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30 - 10.30 a.m. prior to services at the Jordan Oaks Stake Center (3760 W 9380 S West Jordan, Utah 84088) Interment in the Elysian Burial Gardens under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.
