Mount Pleasant

Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce that our beloved mother Judy passed away peacefully in her home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on June 11, 2026 at the age of 86. She left us the way she lived - surrounded by love.

Judy was born on June 21, 1939 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. A proud graduate of Davis High School, she carried her small-town warmth with her everywhere she went.

She married Clay Blankenship and together they had three beautiful daughters and a baby son, whom they lost far too soon. Life brought changes and Judy later found love again with John Hill. He had two wonderful sons, and together they blended their families. They built their life in Roy, Utah. After returning from Hill Air Force Base, Judy and John settled in Mt. Pleasant, where her house became the gathering place for everyone she loved.

To know Judy was to know joy. She poured her heart into everything - tracing family roots through genealogy, stitching quilts that still keep us warm, and hosting Yahtzee and Bunco nights that ended with everyone laughing, Her hands were always busy crocheting, sewing, or cooking something to share. But more than her talents we’ll remember her kindness. Judy had a way of making you feel like you were her favorite person. Her hugs were legendary, and her smile could light up any room.

Judy’s gentle soul touched so many. She will be deeply missed, but her love remains in every quilt she made, every story she told, and every life she cheered on.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Riley, Deborah Butler (Andrew), Ruth Titus (Greg); step-son Todd Hill (Sarah); 5 grandchildren; 7 great -grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents. William Morley and Ruth Barlow; stepfather, David M. Barlow; her beloved husband, John D. Hill; son, Patrick W. Blankenship; stepson, Kevin Hill; and son-in-law, Alton Riley.

Graveside will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with friends and family gathering at 10:30. Judy will be laid to rest in the Moroni Cemetery, surrounded by the mountains she loved.

Judy’s family would like to give a special thanks to Pine View Rehabilitation and At Home Health and Hospice for their love and care.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Judy by calling a friend, sharing a meal, or wrapping someone in a hug - just like she would have done.
