 Julia “May” Leatham Green
Julia “May” Leatham Green passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 14th, 1941 in Park City, Utah to Rex Alvin and Lizzie Ann Leatham. May grew up living in Park City, Center Creek, and Heber City, UT. She graduated from Wasatch High School in 1959. May met Dwayne Hilton Green and they were married on December 28th, 1960 in Center Creek, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in June of 1966. May and Dwayne are the parents of two daughters Sharla and Sandra.
May worked as a Surgical Technician at Pioneer Valley Hospital for 36 years where she gained the love and respect of all the staff and doctors who knew and worked with her.
May was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Primary Teacher, Relief Society Homemaking Leader, and Relief Society Counselor. Her favorite church assignments were anything that involved cooking for large groups of people. She was happiest if she could be in the background quietly serving others. May always had a way of making everyone feel that they were the most special person and her favorite way of serving you was to feed you. If she ever found out what your favorite meal or dessert was, you could be sure that she would make that for you every time you visited her.
May loved to go camping and boating with her family. She loved any time spent with her family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. May and Dwayne resided in Taylorsville, Utah from 1972 to 2007. They then retired to Mount Pleasant, Utah in June of 2007. May then moved to Salt Lake County where she has resided for the last three years. She will be so greatly missed by her family and friends.
May is survived by her daughters, Sharla (Clay) Pearce, and Sandra (Mark) Funk, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, her sister and brother-in-law Margret & Dick McNulty, and sister-in-law Pat Green, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband (Dwayne Green), granddaughter Shelby Pearce, grandson Stephen Funk and siblings: Lyle, Ann, and Rex.

The family would like to thank all those that gave May such great, loving care at Assisted Living of Draper, Beehive Home of East Millcreek and her Hospice Nurse, Alissa, and aid, Mery from Elevation Hospice.
Visitation with the family will be held on April 2, 2022 at 10:30am – 10:50am at the Rasmussen Mortuary located at 96 North 100 West, Mount Pleasant, Utah, with funeral services to be held afterwards at 11am.
