Our sweet Kaybre Lyn Whitaker gained her angel wings at the age of 28 on Friday April 17th, 2026 in Provo, Utah.
Kaybre was a light in this world who knew nothing but love. She brought joy and happiness to everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She found delight in the simple things—swimming, Little Tikes cars, unicorns, trains, and pictures of horses. No matter her limitations, she loved being part of whatever her siblings were doing, from snowboarding and soccer to wrestling and t-ball. She was protective of her personal space and her favorite things, and she especially loved her back rubs—something she sweetly came to expect and cherish.
Kaybre is survived by her mother Misty Payne Whitaker, father Larry (Cami) Whitaker, sister Kenley (Adrian) Carlson, brother Kasen, niece Amelia, grandparents Lorraine (Leonard Watts) Whitaker, Jodi (Doyle) Mitchell, and Craig (Kerri) Payne. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who love and adore her.
She was preceded in death by her infant sister McKayla Payne Whitaker, grandfather Melvin Jay Whitaker, uncle Chad Kent Whitaker and cousin Parker Lamont Payne.
The viewing and funeral will be held at separate locations. The viewing will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in Kanosh, Utah. The funeral will be held on Friday, April 24, at the LDS Church in Flowell, Utah, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services.
The Whitaker family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ashley and the amazing staff at Medallion Manor in Provo for the tireless care, service, and compassion they showed Kaybre over the past year. We are deeply grateful for the attentive care she received and the love that surrounded her.
A GoFundMe has been setup to help with funeral expense.
