LaFaye was a servant of others. She developed her love of music by practicing the piano in lieu of doing dinner dishes after school. Her mom washed dishes & listened with gratitude for the growing love & gift of music developing in LaFaye’s heart. She served as the Mount Pleasant Stake organist at the age of 14. She played for hundreds of weddings, funerals, & church meetings. She sang for the majority of six decades with the Treble Clefs & the Schubert Singers before retiring to Mount Pleasant in 2017. LaFaye loved her six children, her 13 grandchildren, & her 18 great-grandchildren very much!
She married her high school sweetheart, Myron Alvin Hamilton of Fairview, UT at the age of 17. Mostly they raised their family in Sandy & South Jordan, UT. LaFaye stood by Myron’s side for 60 years of marriage. One of the great joys of her life was to receive her LDS temple ordinances on Friday, June 4, 1982. She is survived by four sisters: Betty-Kay, Marilyn, Marcia, & JoAnn; four children: Lori, Linda, Randy, & Jennifer; 13 grandchildren, & 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents: Loraine & Athaleen; her brother: Robert; her sister: Debora; her husband Myron; her sons: Michael & Kenneth; & several in-laws.
