Laura Roene Russon

Our loving mother, grandma, sister and friend Laura Roene Russon passed away on September 19, 2025, in her Fairview home, surrounded by family.

Roene was born in Ioka, Utah, on June 17, 1935, to John Reed Lemon and Arvilla Timothy Lemon. She loved growing up on the farm with her two sisters and three older brothers. She had fond memories of her life on the farm that she loved sharing with her family, and she had a very loving relationship with all of them.

She graduated from Uintah High School. As a sweet and beautiful young woman, she was swept off her feet when Wayne came to do some work on her family’s home. Roene married Wayne Paul Russon in the Salt Lake Temple in November 1952. They had 60 beautiful years together and were blessed with ten children.

She was the most loving mother we could have asked for. She dedicated her life to being the best possible wife and mother, and all of us children have such beautiful memories of her devotion. Those memories have blessed us to strive to be better parents.

Roene was an amazing cook and we always enjoyed her meals and her recipes will be passed down for generations. Family gatherings were always her greatest joy throughout her life, even until her last moments.

She served faithfully in all of her many church callings. She was always a faithful daughter of God, and her prayers were a sacred part of her day. She will be forever remembered for her patience, kindness, and love for everyone she knew.

Roene is survived by her children, Mike, (Cori) Russon, Alpine; Kristine, (Mel) Curtis, Fairview; Paulene (Lynn) Sitterud, Huntington; Clark(Vickie) Russon, Salem, OR;

Alene (Steve) Litteral, Cookeville, TN; Nathan (Christie) Russon, Hyrum; Tim (Michelle) Russon, Brigham City; Julene Russon, Fairview; 57 Grandchildren and

44 great-grandchildren; Her sister Geneil Goodrich, Sandy.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Wayne Paul Russon, her two precious babies, Brenda Lee, Laura Jean, her parents, John Reed Lemon and Arvilla Timothy Lemon, her brothers, Karl, Keith, and Boyd, her sister Vaye, and her sweet granddaughter, Stephanie Sitterud.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th, at the Rock Church in Fairview (100 East, 100 North). A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Fairview City Cemetery.
