LaVar Christiansen died in his sleep on Sunday, September 6, 2026, while camping with friends in the mountains…doing exactly what he loved.
LaVar was born on December 28, 1970, to Larry (Ilene) Christiansen and Beverly (Allan) Johansen. He married his wife, Euleta, on July 6, 1991, and had two beautiful sons, Braden and Cole, who grew up to be like their father in so many ways.
LaVar was preceded in death by Braden (Caitlin) Christiansen and Boone. LaVar is survived by his wife Euleta, Cole (Kallie) Christiansen, his grandson Khyren Jasper Edmunds and Blue. He is also survived by his siblings Tishan (Gordon) Everts, Shallyn Johansen, Annalisa (William) Stone, Lawrence Jason Christiansen, Jennifer Renae (Nick) Bennett, Rebecca Michelle Christiansen, and Andrea Nicole (Angel) Garcia.
LaVar was raised in Chester, Utah by Beverly and Allan Johansen with his sisters Tishan, Shallyn, and Annie. He grew up with his life-long friends Murley and Ben Harward, and Chris and Scott Young. Shayne Smith and Mike Stevens were not far behind. There are probably many others who should be mentioned because he couldn’t go anywhere without finding someone he knew. If you knew LaVar, you know that you were friends for life. And that he would do anything for a friend. He was an amazing husband, an incredibly hard worker, a loving father, brother, son, and a loyal friend.
So, when you’re thinking of Varo,
Go for a ride.
Have a drink.
Remember who you are and what you stand for.
And don’t forget…he can’t rescue you anymore.
