Lenore Alice Shelley

Lenore Alice Beal Shelley passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 24, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She was born to Elbert Allen Beal and Alice Flora Peterson on April 27, 1934, in Manti, Utah.

Lenore was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and grew up in Manti, UT, but later moved to Fountain Green, UT with her parents where she graduated from Moroni High School.

She spent many years helping her father with billing at the Fountain Green Phone Company. In 1953, Lenore’s friends introduced her to Donald Blain Shelley. Just a few months later, they were married in the Manti Temple on June 5. Together, they had a family of 11 children and shared 51 years of marriage with a lifetime of memories.

Lenore spent many years as a homemaker. She had a love for quilting, which she passed on to her daughters. She spent many years sewing, crocheting, tatting, and enjoying many other crafts. She was resourceful in providing for her family, raising a garden and canned what was grown. Later in life, after she raised her family, she worked at Sanpete Valley Hospital as Head Housekeeper and in the Laundry

Lenore was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind eight children: Rawlin Shelley (Allison), Myrna Booth, Coy Shelley (Laurie), Carl Shelley (Ann), Calvin Shelley (Teresa), Marie Cheung (John), Ellen Nilo (Tani), and Dawn Shelley, as well as daughter-in-law Cindy Shelley (Paul). Brothers Ira Beal (Beth), Nathan Beal (Donna) and Delbert Beal (Linda). She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Blain Shelley; her son, Paul Blain Shelley; daughters, Debra Shelley and Janette Irene Shelley, brother Alvin Beal and sister Eunice Standlee.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the sweetest Visiting Angels, Hospice Nurses and Staff for the loving care and comfort they provided to Lenore and her family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2026. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. The services will be held at the Mt. Pleasant 1st Ward Building, located at 461 N. 300 W., Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Interment will be at Mt Pleasant City Cemetery.
