Our ever fun loving Louie has gone to the other side to be with his Italian family, adopted Utah family and myriad of friends, especially his best friend Dan Wark, who he carried a picture of in his wallet from the time he was killed in the Vietnam war.
Louie was born December 4th, 1943 to his parents Frances Virginia Frucella and Angelo Guy Montante in Monterey Park, California.
He attended Mount Sac and USC after high school. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany, and also served in the guard for 20 years. He worked in the HVAC business his whole life including Crown Heating and Air Conditioning and finishing up with Johnstone Supply. At work he made many, many friends and loved his coworkers and his boss and customers, who loved him right back. He was definitely devoted to his work and loved it, and was very knowledgeable which allowed him to help customers with expertise.
He traveled the world and enjoyed all the beautiful places he visited, he especially loved seeing Italy, his family home country and looking for his ancestry records.
He was an avid sports fan, and had quite a collection of memorabilia. His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers, and everyone who knew him knew his Packers hat, he wore it everywhere.
In 1977 he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he became a ‘Dad’ to all the missionaries he let stay at his house. He took great care of them, taking them out to lunch and ice cream at Farrell’s. He said often, “My most precious possession is my testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Jesus’ atonement and resurrection.” He worked at the Los Angelos Temple and it was one of his most cherished memories.
He had a soft place in his heart for all those he knew and loved, and spoke kindly of them often.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, and survived by his Utah Family, nieces and nephews and many, many wonderful friends. Special mention to his niece Rose Eileen Montante Geary.
Siblings were brother Michael Robert (Gloria), sister Marie McNulty (Wayne), Sister Rose, Brother Albert (Helen).
Funeral is at the Rasmussen Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Utah, at 11 a.m. on November 15, 2025.
He requested to be buried in the Wales, Utah cemetery, and will receive a military honors.
