Lynn Allen Rushton

Lynn Allen Rushton, age 76, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at Millard County Hospital in Fillmore, Utah.
Lynn was born in Hunter, Utah (now West Valley City) on August 28, 1941 to Sylvester Rushton and Luzon Nelson. He married his high school sweet heart Valerie Joan Backman on November 6,1959 in Magna, Utah and was later sealed in the Manti Temple in 1985.
Lynn was a brick layer and owned his own masonry business specializing in custom brick and rock work. Shortly after being married he built his house in West Valley where he lived 14 years. Lynn raised and breed Appaloosa and Quarter horses. He drove cutter teams in South Jordan at the Equestrian Park for several years.
Lynn bought a farm seven miles north of Flowell and moved there in 1981. Lynn had a great love for baseball as a catcher and enjoyed football. He and Valerie enjoyed bowling and bowled in a league for many years. He was an avid hunter which he did until his health made it impossible to do.
Tragically in 1986 Valerie passed away of cancer. As time passed he found a new love, Cherry, where they spent the remainder of his years as companions. Cherry Winget has two children Brandon (Darcy) Winget and Lindsey (Jeff) Mitchell.
Thank you to all the medical staff of Fillmore Hospital for the love and support they always gave Lynn. His guardian angel, Kent Swallow and sidekick his grandson Chaz.
He is survived by his daughter, Michele Empey (Michael) St. George, UT, and three sons, Kevin (Bobbie) Rushton Holden, UT, Todd (Julie) Rushton Rupert, Id., Shawn Rushton, Hurricane, UT, fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Clark (Sharron).
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; brother Johnnie; his wife Valerie and son Bart.
Services will be held Saturday April 14, 2018 at the Flowell LDS chapel, (If using Google maps use 4084 W 500 N Fillmore, UT) The viewing will begin at 11:00am till 1:00pm. Graveside Services will start at 1:30pm in the Fillmore City Cemetery.
