Margene Myrtle Johnston

May 4, 1944 — February 28, 2023

5/4/1944 ~ 2/28/2023

Margene Myrtle Johnston our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away February 28, 2023. She was born to Edmund Arden Thomas and Tranquilla Brown May 4th, 1944 in Springville, UT. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints and graduated from Seminary and Springville High School in 1962.

She married Frank Roberts in 1964 and had two children. She later divorced and found the love of her life Rodney M. Johnston and was married September 25, 1971. She gained four step children, then had three more with Rodney for a grand total of nine beautiful children to love. Rod and Margene worked hard to provide for their kids and taught them the value of hard work, to laugh together, and to go fishing as much as possible.

Margene loved to listen to country music, cross stitch dish towels and pillow cases, paint wood crafts, work in the garden with Rod, bake Christmas goodies every year with her daughters and grand daughters, and telling and re-telling her favorite family history stories so no one would forget them.

Margene was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, only sibling Glen Thomas, daughter in-law Paula Johnston, sons–Terry Johnston, Tony Johnston, and son-in-law Jason Wilkey. She is survived by her children; William Roberts, Mary Roberts (Mike), Rodetta Mcdonald (Don), Sandra Johnston, Perry Johnston, Timothy Johnston (Rebecca), and Trina Wilkey. She has numerous grand children, great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild so far.

Margene gave so much love to all of her family and she will be dearly missed.

“As I walk with Jesus to my home above, He will bless me with HIs Spirit and fill me with his love, Change my heart forever and help me clearly see. I will walk with Jesus, and he will walk with me.”- Stephen P. Schank
