Mary Alice Frandsen-Clark passed away March 27, 2026 at the Abbington Care Center in St. George, UT. She was born August 2, 1938 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Lyle and Lottie Schmidt. They later moved to McGill Nevada where mom spent her years growing up. When she was in high school she was an honor student and member of the dance and drill team at White Pine high school in Ely, Nevada. Shortly before graduating, she met the love of her life Russell Ned Frandsen. Later on April 19,1956 they got married. Dad was a member of the LDS Church and mom was eager to join him. He baptized Mom to become a member of the church. They moved to Sugar House, Utah, for a few years, Murray, Utah for many years and then to their dream home they built in West Jordan. During this time she gave birth to four children. Steven(Autumn), Kimberly, Mike(Venetia), and Rob(Joel). She had eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Mary later married Matt Clark and spent over 20 happy years together. Mom was blessed to have two wonderful men in her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, brother Bob, sister Janet, and her granddaughter Charice.
Some of Mom‘s passions were playing bingo, sewing, canning fruits, and vegetables, bowling, golfing and bocce ball. Her and dad were in a bowling league for many years winning many trophies. In her later years she loved playing bocce ball. She competed in the senior Olympics and won the gold medal in this event. Mom was very witty and had a spunky personality that kept everybody in line with lots of love and respect. Mom was a very thoughtful and giving person as well. She easily made lots of friends everywhere she went.
We wanted to give a special shout out to the Abbington Care Center in St. George, Utah along with the many angels that helped care for Mom, couldn’t have been in better care. Also, to her Hospice team. These women are truly angels on earth. We appreciate all of them so much.
