In Loving Memory of Ann Stephenson
September 6, 1945 - September 3, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Stephenson, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and so much more, who left this world peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by seven of her children, Tara, Brandon (Mary), Vita (Rob), Camm (Amber), Ralani, Ethan (Janell), Cayce (Kimberly), fifteen grandchildren, and countless friends and extended family. Preceded in death by her birth father and mother, Cleo, and Merdis Effie Stanley, adopted mother and father, Charles, and Fannie Jo Grollmus, her husband Raymond, and daughter Andrea.
Born on September 6, 1945, in Florala, Alabama, Ann was one of three-a triplet-whose life was extraordinary from the very beginning. Her mother passed away soon after giving birth to the triplets. THey were then adopted and raised by their Uncle Charles and Aunt Fannie Jo in Crestview, Florida.
She graduated high school in Crestview, Florida. Attended Pensacola Junior College, then transferred to Florida State University, where she earned a degree in social work. She was an avid Seminoles fan which she passed on to her children. After graduating, she took a social worker position in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Continued her career as an ombudsman in Utah. As well as working at the Fillmore Middle School, and Millard High School.
She married Raymond Stephenson on December 6, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida and sealed for time and all eternity in the Honolulu, Hawaii temple May 15, 1974. After many moves and three children, Ray dragged Ann back “kicking and screaming” to his hometown of Holden, Utah.
Ann was a devoted mother of eight children, a role she embraced with grace, strength and an endless supply of love. She was not only a nurturing mother, but also a proud and doting grandmother whose joy was found in every hug, laugh, and milestone of her grandchildren.
She enjoyed hiking, walks, working on genealogy, watching musicals, canning, visiting the temple, and serving in church callings with her husband. She also loved reading to her grandchildren, and spending any time she could with her family.
Growing up Southern Baptist, then later being only one of two in her family to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She led by example, and was tireless in her efforts to teach the gospel to her children. She devoted much of her time in the service of the Church. From callings in the young women’s, relief society, and ministering, to endless small acts of kindness and sacrifice often through baked goods and service to others. Every decision she made reflected her belief in God and the gospel.
To her neighbors and friends, Ann was more than just a familiar face – she was a guardian angel in disguise. Whether it was a hot meal, a kind word, or tireless support during hard times, she gave freely and wholeheartedly.
Her legacy of love, faith, and selfless service lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Although she will be greatly missed, she will be reunited with her parents, Raymond, and Andrea.
