Minnie Josephine Seely

July 18, 1924 — November 16, 2019

7/18/1924 ~ 11/16/2019

Minnie Josephine Seely, 95, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully, November 16, 2019, in the presence of loved ones. She was reunited with her eternal companion, Boyd Richard Seely. Minnie Jo was born July 18th, 1924, in Corsicana Navarro, Texas. She was the oldest of two children born to Wayne Brown and Ida Ethel Berry. Minnie Jo was known for her big expressive blue eyes that at times told a better story than any words. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to tell jokes. She saw the positive in every situation. She was an avid reader of the scriptures, and the gospel of Jesus Christ meant everything to her. Even at 95, she still ministered to her sisters. She loved poetry and memorized many poems that she shared with everyone around her. She loved Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and nobody but a fool would call during those episodes. She loved to play games, but all who played knew when you played a game with Minnie Jo, you followed her rules. Some of her talents she was best known for were cross-stitch, crocheting, and making rice bags. Minnie Jo is survived by her children, Wayne Seely, Sharon (Terry) Thompson, Linda (Tom) Motuapuaka, and Dean Seely, 16 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 23rd at 1:00, at the Mt. Pleasant 5th Ward (49 South State Street, Mt. Pleasant). A viewing will be held prior to the funeral, from 11:30 – 12:30. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
