My angel child Paul Michael Bartlett, age 49, of
Mountainville, Utah peacefully departed this world on June 27, 2026 at his
home. Born on December 24, 1976 in Provo Utah, Paul was the beloved son of
Irene O’Brien and the late Howard Bartlett.
He shared his life with his mother and stepfather, Pat
O’Brien, and his siblings Mark Bartlett (Fenny), Julie Bartlett Hickerson
(Robert), Jared O’Brien (Cyriel), Deborah O’Brien Cole (Jeremy), Daniel O’Brien
(Erica), and Jacob O’Brien (Christina).
He was cherished by extended family and many dear friends
who will always remember his kind nature.
Paul’s educational journey included special training at Dan
Peterson School in American Fork, Oakridge School in Provo, where he also
participated in Special Olympics at BYU, earning medals and ribbons, and
Sanpete High School. He worked for many years at the Affinity sheltered
workshop in Nephi.
He communicated more through his expressions and the
happiness he found in simple things than through words. Those who loved him
learned to celebrate the little moments - a smile, a laugh, and the delight of
a favorite toy. His life reminded us that love doesn’t depend on words.
Although he faced significant challenges throughout his life
due to disabilities, he brought joy to those who knew him in his own unique
way. He enjoyed going to church, loved riding in the car and listening and
moving to music, (his favorite was the closing credits music from “The Chosen”)
- but most of all he loved his rattly balls and his “hand balloons” (latex
gloves). His smile and quiet presence touched the hearts of his family.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held on July 9,
2026 with a visitation at 10 a.m., funeral at 11 a.m., and a luncheon
following. Mount Pleasant Utah North Stake Center, 461 N. 300 W., Mount
Pleasant, Utah.
