Randy Lusty
Randall “Randy” Scott Lusty passed away peacefully at his home in Spring City, Utah, with his family by his side on October 4, 2025.
He was born on November 6, 1950, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Neal Scott and Bessie Evans Lusty. The youngest of five children, he grew up in Arcadia, Utah, where he learned to ranch, farm, and hunt.
Randy moved to Magna, Utah, his sophomore year and graduated from Cyprus High School. It was there he met the love of his life, Debi Rydalch. They were married on June 17, 1972, in the Provo Utah Temple, where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They made their first home in West Valley City. They later moved to Sanpete County, where they built their forever home in Spring City and raised their five children.
Spring City was the perfect place to fuel Randy’s love of the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and, most of all, spending time with his family. He had a green thumb when it came to farming, and his expertise became a staple of the community. He was the go-to guy for anyone who needed farming advice and would help anyone at the drop of a hat.
Randy began his career at Westinghouse and then moved to his lifelong profession with Utah Power & Light in 1977 at the Huntington power plant as a mechanic/machinist. He later worked out of the Richfield office as a substation journeyman and retired in July 2014.
He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings. He was never shy about sharing his testimony or his love of the Savior.
Of all his accomplishments in life, Randy felt his greatest was his family. He loved spending every minute he could with them—camping, trips to Bear Lake and Disneyland, or sitting around a campfire.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Debi; daughters Brandi (Morgan) Hall, TaNeal (Garrett) Jenkins, Holly (Aaron) Hooper, and Amy (Daniel) Ramsay; son Jason (Krysten) Lusty; and his faithful dog, Belle. He is the grandfather of 14 grandchildren - Ian (Xiaofan), Kenzie (Taylor), Gavin (Trista), Wyatt (Ashlee), Logan (Nott), Haylee (Ty), Dominic, Damon (Cecilia), Taite, Tailar (Josh), Jonas, Makaylee, Kellen, and Luke and 4 great-grandchildren - Easton, Lily, Mclayne, and Codi. He is also survived by his sisters Marcia Allen, Lucy Nievaard, and Margaret Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Evan.
