Rhonda Jean Murrish

Rhonda Jean West Murrish, 70, of Mt Pleasant, Utah was born on June 16, 1955 to Vernon and Barbara (Bobbie) West in Fontana, California.

Rhonda graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California in 1973 and received her Associate’s Degree of Arts in Child Development from Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California. She loved learning and continued taking classes from Chaffey College for a few years while Howard completed his Industrial certificate for welding and metallurgy.

She married Howard Murrish on April 23, 1977 in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple. She even made her own wedding dress.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She would do absolutely anything she could for her boys, and even more for her grandchildren. She loved to babysit her grandchildren and did so as often as she could. She loved reading them books, singing silly songs, playing water games, and being close to them. Her favorite calling in church was being a primary teacher but was also heavily involved in the scouting and cub scouting programs. She truly had a gift of teaching and a love of showing them the joys of the gospel. She was a master at plastic canvas creations and made each of her grandkids many crafts. She loved reading, especially mysteries and church history. Her favorite authors were Stephen King and Michael Crichton.

After quite some time of facing health challenges, Rhonda passed away peacefully at home in Mt Pleasant on June 2, 2026. She is survived by her husband Howard, 4 sons Darold (Christine), Jeffrey (Heather), Steven (Monique), Andrew (Anabel), and 11.5 grandchildren (#12 coming soon!). She is also survived by her mother Bobbie, brother Greg (Maria), and sister Renee. She is preceded in death by her father Vernon and sister-in-law Connie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the red brick church in Mt Pleasant (49 State St) at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Mt Pleasant Cemetery.
