Robert Eugene Paxton, 93, passed away at his home in Kanosh on August 22, 2025 after a brief illness.
Born on June 25, 1932, in Kanosh, Utah to parents Russell and Evelyn Paxton, Bob moved to Southern California as a young child and resided with his Uncle Gene and Aunt Ruth George. He graduated from Pomona High School, and afterwards served in the Navy. He went on to hold a variety of different jobs during his lifetime. He excelled in construction and was an excellent handyman.
Bob was a very talented singer, and he enjoyed performing at church functions. He also produced several albums during his younger years, and he wrote and directed roadshows for the Young Men & Women Groups organized by the church.
Bob was also a big jokester and loved teasing the kids but also enjoyed taking them on camping trips and even Disneyland. He was kind of a kid at heart.
In 2003 Bob returned to Kanosh to retire and lived in the home his Grandma George resided in for many years. While in Kanosh he gave generously to several young men as they began their service as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He also gave generously to worthy causes at the local Catholic Church where he faithfully attended in the last years of his life.
Bob is survived by his two sisters, Colleen Palmer and Lauretta Rust, and his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mr. Paxton will be laid to rest at the Pomona Mausoleum in Pomona, California. His wish was not to have a memorial service.
