Roger Morris Cook passed away peacefully, June 29, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson's, surrounded by all his children and his loving wife.
He was born April 27, 1945 to Morris and Betty Cook. He spent his childhood in Fountain Green Utah until his teenage years and then later moved just a few miles south to Moroni. He developed a love for the great outdoors by herding sheep for his father and later owning his own herd. He had a special place in his heart for animals and loved feeding strays he would encounter. He had a special love for horses and had many throughout the years. He met the love of his life, Marianne Crosland, when he was just 17 years old. They dated until he was called to serve in the Northern California Mission. When he returned, they were married on July 1, 1967. Just six weeks later he was drafted to serve his country in Vietnam. After almost two years of service, he returned home to a grateful wife and they began their family. He started out herding sheep, and later went to the trade school and studied auto mechanics. In 1981 He started and operated his own Mechanic and metal fabrication business ( Wagon Wheel Repair) and also was a dealer for Chore-time, turkey automated feed systems for the local farmers.
He loved to serve people in many capacities and from August 1995-December 2001 he served as Mayor of Moroni. He also served in many church callings but he especially loved working with the youth.
He had a talent for craftsmanship, was a master welder and loved working with leather.
He had a great love for his country and his fellow men and inspired his family and many in the community with his patriotic spirit.
