Shane Michael McFarland passed away January 22, 2024. He was greeted in Heaven by our Heavenly Father, Our Savior Jesus Christ, along with many relatives and friends who loved him dearly.  Shane was born September 16, 1982 in Salt Lake City to David and Janet McFarland of Fairview Utah.

Shane grew up in a loving family with an older sister (Heather Whiting) and a younger sister (Haylie McFarland), with whom he adored, played, teased...and then teased some more. Shane grew up in Fairview where he had so many friends, friends that watched out for each other. He loved music, Rock and Roll, and going to concerts.  This passion inspired him to be an accomplished drummer.

Shane served a valiant Mission in the Accra Ghana Mission.  Shane loved the people of Africa and was able to be in Accra when the first temple in Western Africa was dedicated.

God blessed Shane with a caring and giving heart, and Shane shared those gifts with those around him.  He loved volunteering and coaching young adults in boxing programs.  While employed at Macy’s, even those who he had to arrest for shoplifting would find encouraging and hopeful words from Shane.  Shane cared and valued his co workers In his most recent employment at Morgan Stanley,

Through all his hardships and disappointments, he always came out with a smile and never complained.  Shane will always be our Superman.

Shane is survived by his loving parents David and Janet McFarland, his sisters Heather Whiting (Randy Whiting) and Haylie McFarland, and his nephews and nieces (Gavin Whiting, Brennan Whiting, Adalyn Whiting, and Micah Whiting). Two very special children in his life, Dayne and Oaklee.
