 Tyler Robert Gundry was born on March 4th of 1986 to Deanna and Robert Gundry in Orem, Utah. Tyler passed away on November 23rd, 2025, at his home in Helper, Utah.

Tyler is survived by his mother, DeAnna Gundry; brother, Trey Gundry, of Mount Pleasant, Utah; uncle, Richard Gundry, Fairview, Utah; uncle, Dave (Chris) Gundry, Blackhawk Estates, Utah; uncle, Robert (Lisa) Decker, Maine; aunt, Lynn (Chava) Cruz, Ephraim, Utah; aunt, Angela Hebenstreich, Missouri; uncle, Charles (Jessica) Hebenstreich; aunt, Danna (Kenneth) Lowe, Spring City, Utah; grandparents, William & Carol Gundry of Mount Pleasant, Utah and several cousins.

Tyler was preceded in death, by his father Robert Gundry; grandparents, Robert and Majorie Ann Decker and grandmother Cheryl Hebenstriech.

Tyler spent the majority of his childhood in Mount Pleasant, where he made lifelong friends at his elementary school.

Tyler enjoyed t-ball, baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, golfing, tennis, football, volleyball, basically Tyler enjoyed anything playing with balls. Tyler loved fishing, biking, hunting, skateboarding, waterboarding, snowboarding, anything involving adventure/danger. Tyler won an Iron chef award shortly after high school and was an excellent sous-chef. After moving back to Mount Pleasant, from Salt Lake City, Ty was thrilled to get a position at the coal mines in Huntington in July 2014. Tyler loved his job there and took his responsibilities there very seriously. When not working, Tyler spent his summers playing coed sports or playing with his dogs, Teak and Angel. In 2022, Tyler bought his first home and moved to Helper, Utah. In June of 2025, Tyler completed the mine’s rescue and recovery program, he was then a certified mine rescuer. Tyler enjoyed his training very much.

As Tyler’s family, we always had hope that Tyler could see himself as we saw him. Tyler had a very big and giving heart and he will be so missed by his family and friends.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 5th at 2 p.m., at the Cedar Creek Ward, directly outside of Spring City. Our family thanks Rasmussen Mortuary and Mitchell Funeral Home for their excellent care provided.
